I joined this tour by myself.
This 9 hour tour was acutally consisted of two 2/1 days tour. Departing from Aviognon visiting Roman ruins and a vinery in the morning, then returning to Avignon to pick up people for the afternoon tour. It was a non-peak season and picking up afternoon group did not take so much time. However, you may find it a bit frustrating during a peak season.
Having said that, the entire tour was beyond my expectation.
Our guide Carol paid detailed attention to everybody's needs and full of knowledge with very good sense of humor.
Her unique background- grew up in Avignon region and lived/worked in Costa Rica for 10 years and recently returned to Avignon- added more character to the internationally diverse group attended the tour on this day.
A 18 yr old female American college student attending a university in Paris as an exchange student, a Chinese female traveler around mid 30's, Argentine mother and teen age son, et moi - Japanese American from New York.
Some of the reviews warned that the tour was too rushed. Since it was an off peak season, we did not feel pressured about time; entire schedule was effectively executed.
Yes, by the end of the day, we were very very tired and with a lovely memory of Provence ; )

This is a great 101 tour to Provence. For 201, I would recommend tours spending more time in each village.
